A four-storey shopping centre, a 13-storey office block and a multi-storey car park – this was the former Arkady Wrocławskie Shopping Centre complex. Since 2025, the building has been gradually and meticulously demolished. By mid-2027, it is set to disappear completely from the landscape of southern Wrocław. The tears shed for the building, which was an important place for many Wrocław millennials, have long since dried up. Now it is time to take a look at what is happening at the demolition site.

Due to its location in the very heart of the city and the complex structure of the Arkady, the demolition required excellent preparation and organisation. Thanks to our collaboration with the TREE Group, we’ll be visiting the construction site on a festival Saturday and taking a look behind the scenes of this process. From the outset, one of the priorities has been the recovery and recycling of building materials. What will happen to the Lower Silesian sandstone that we can still see on the Arkady’s façade? Which materials from inside the building have already been given a new lease of life? What conditions must be met for recovered items to end up in a circular economy boutique?
