Sunday – 02.10, 19:00, Kino Nowe Horyzonty
All meetings are conducted in Polish
At the end of the anniversary edition of the festival, we will arrive at an extremely ideal place, where it is not chaos or lack of attention to form that is the problem, but the rigorousness of spatial order and the over-aestheticization of the objects being erected. In the conversation, we will ask ourselves what happens when we reach that point, and how it is even possible. We will verify the theory that Copenhagen has become a mono-society of people, who can still afford to live in this one of the most expensive cities in the world. We will consider how strongly its image of an ideal place, has outgrown reality and led to the marginalization of phenomena that do not fit into this image. In such a situation, is it the residents who begin to live for the city rather than the city living for them?
We will look at the historical, social, and political factors that condition thinking about creating aesthetic living spaces. We will also consider what economic conditions must be met for truly high-quality and decent architecture, and at what stage of economic and social development aesthetics become particularly important in shaping the image of a city.
The conversation will accompany the screening of films „Best In the World”.
Free admission.
