Wednesday – 27.09, 19:35, Kino Nowe Horyzonty

All meetings are conducted in Polish

Is imperfection an advantage or a disadvantage? How do we accept what is intentionally incomplete or accidentally unplanned? During the meeting accompanying the opening of the festival, we will reflect together on the urban dimensions of imperfection.

Populariser of urbanity Łukasz Harat, city sociologist Marta Smagacz-Poziemska and architect Mikołaj Smoleński, will invite you – the audience present in the cinema hall – to join the discussion. Together, we will try to create a catalogue of “imperfections”, whether architectural, urban, social or natural, that are not always accepted, but are often necessary for life in the city.

We will also invite you to create an arch-positive manifesto, calling for the acceptance of urban imperfections, treating architecture as an infinite continuum of failures and disappointments, and forbearance towards design deficiencies and shortcomings. And in doing so, we will consider whether we place too many expectations on architecture, too often expecting it to solve too many problems.

Join us in this challenge!

The conversation will accompany the screening of

„Robin Hood Gardens”
