Power to the people! This famous slogan by Lennon and the Plastic Ono Band comes to life in Walthamstow, London, where a couple of artist-activists are turning their street into a power station.

Hilary Powell and Dan Edelstyn want to tackle the growing problem of energy poverty amongst Londoners. Their solution is mad in its simplicity – solar panels on the roofs of every house. They launch a campaign designed to steer the public towards independence from the expensive state-run system.

The road to this goal is often winding and bumpy. They have to convince their neighbours, spend a few nights sleeping on their own rooftops, raise the necessary funds, and finally fight for the number one spot on the Christmas charts. Powell and Edelstyn document their efforts, and their unique film serves as an excellent guide on how to create a renewable energy hub in your own neighbourhood.
